Methods to Perform Nighthawk AX5400 Router Setup
The procedure of configuring the Netgear Nighthawk routers is very simple. In this post, we will discuss two methods one is by using the Manual method or via a WPS button.
Using Manual Method
The most frequent way to install the Netgear Nighthawk router is by using the web interface. Once you get a Nighthawk router box, unwrap the pack. Inside the package, you will receive a power adapter, Ethernet cable, antennas, router, and user manual. Confirm that, all things in the box are not defective.
- Power on the Netgear Router
Once you check all the accessories, the first step is to power on the Nighthawk router by plugging it into the wall socket. Verify that the power socket is properly working and providing fluctuation-free electricity. After that, press the power button and the power LED light turns on.
- Connect the Router to the Modem
When the power LED is stabilized, connect the router to the modem using an Ethernet cable. Confirm that the Ethernet cable connection is stable. In case, the Ethernet cable is worn out then immediately replace the existing one with the new one.
- Open Internet Browser
As soon as you connect the router to the modem, launch a web browser on your client device. You can open any browser such as Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Apple Safari, and Mozilla Firefox.
Note: Before moving to the next step, always confirm that you are using the upgraded version of the web browser because the outdated browser does not work accurately and creates issues.
- Access the Login Page
The moment you open the internet browser, type the web URL in its address bar without making any mistakes and hit the Enter button. To get accurate results, always use the URL bar instead of the search bar.
- Fill in the Login Details
Once you press the Enter key, the admin login page will display on the screen. Now, enter the login credentials in the given fields and click on the Log In button. Just in case, you don’t know about the default username and password then take the help of the user manual. To avoid login errors, ensure that CAPS LOCK is off because login details are case-sensitive.
The moment you click on the Log In button, the login dashboard will be showing up. Now, follow the on-screen instructions to finish the setup process. Make sure that you will not skip any instruction. Otherwise, you will have to Factory reset Netgear router and initiate the setup process again.
Using WPS Button
Apart from the web interface method, you can also configure your Nighthawk router using the WPS button. Follow the given below steps to complete the process using the WPS button.
- Place the router and modem in the same room.
- Once done, insert the router into the electric outlet.
