2.1 Educational Qualification

To be eligible for the NEST Exam, candidates must have passed their Class 12 or equivalent examination from a recognized board in the science stream (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Biology). Further, Candidates who are appearing for their Class 12 examinations in the year of the NEST Exam are also eligible to apply.

2.2 Age Limit

Furthermore, General and OBC category candidates born on or after August 01, 2003, are eligible for admission to the Integrated MSc program of NISER/CEBS. Next, The age limit is relaxed by 5 years for SC / ST / Divyangjan candidate

2.3 Nationality and Domicile

Moreover, the NEST Exam welcomes Indian nationals, OCI (Overseas Citizens of India), and PIO (Person of Indian Origin) cardholders. However, NISER restricts admission exclusively to Indian nationals.

2.4 Reservation Policy

For the Integrated MSc program 2023–28, the total number of seats at NISER and CEBS are 200 and 57, respectively. NISER and CEBS follow the Govt. of India rules for reservation of seats. 

OBC

Furthermore, the reservation of 27% of the total number of seats is allocated for Other Backward Classes belonging to the Non-Creamy Layer (OBC-NCL).

Also, 5% of the number of seats in every category, i.e., General, OBC–NCL, SC, and ST, are reserved for persons with disabilities (Divyangjan). 

The reservation for Divyangjan candidates is horizontal. Further, The unfilled seats will be allotted to candidates belonging to the respective categories, i.e., the unfilled SC (Divyangjan) seats will be allotted to candidates belonging to the SC category, and so on. If selected, the candidates must produce all original certificates at the time of admission, failing which the offer of admission will be canceled.
